About the Lincoln Area Railway Historical Society

We are a multi scale club, and have layouts/trains of all scales. While model railroading is a major part of our club, we are also a museum. Along with the items we already had had in our old museum, we have been acquiring full scale items (BN Caboose, Roca Depot) for restoration and for display. Our “ultimate goal” is to have a museum which features full scale railroad equipment and items as well as model railroad layouts of various scales. While we do have a nice collection of railroad items, they are currently in storage.  We are working towards our new home at the Lancaster Event Center after being kicked out of our old home in the Industrial Arts Building at the former Nebraska State Fair Park.  A major portion of what we had in the Industrial arts building is still in our possession in storage, waiting for its home.  As a club we attend various train shows & events, take trips, have work days, meeting & more.  We currently have N & HO scale traveling layouts which we take to shows & display, as well as a G scale display that is occasionally setup.  We have an wonderful club member that sets up his G Scale layout at 10+ shows a year. We also will have a club O scale layout at some point.  As our new museum at the Lancaster Event Center continues to grow, we will be able to have more to offer for the city of Lincoln as well as our club members.
