Lincoln Children’s Museum Layout

Here are some pictures from the layout that we built and maintain for the Lincoln Children’s Museum.

The Lincoln Children’s Museum train layout began with a conversation with the museum director Tara Kuntz in August 2019. BNSF had made a $10,000 grant available to the museum for its development.

Work began in the basement workshop of the Children’s Museum during the winter of 2019-20. We used three 4 x 6 foam sections donated to the club as the base of the layout. The HO scale layout measures 9 feet by 20 feet with all construction done by LARHS club members. Members contributing to the project are Charlie H., Larry A., Trip S., Ron M., and Rich G. The LARHS maintains the layout and checks on it regularly.
